Islands Cres and Krk are almost the same size at 405.7 km2 and 405.2 m2 respectively, but the Island Krk, although it has some high terrain in the South, is much flatter then Cres which is famous for its steep sea cliffs and sturdy sheep.

3. Explore the traces of dinosaurs in Istria
Istria has one of the richest sites of dinosaur fossils in Croatia. Footprints have been found in several locations: on the Veli Brijun island, on the peninsula Marlera near Medulin, in a small bay in Prematura. The greatest discovery occurred in 1992 when a diver accidentally found fossilised bones on the seabed near Bale. The bones of 10 different species of dinosaur, estimated to be 150-200 million years old, can be visited in Bale.
Paleo Park in the Mon Perin camping near Bale was inspired by this discovery. You can discover rich traces of history if you take the hiking trails of the island of Krk. There are more than 300 kilometres of marked hiking trails.
The area of Šilo and Dobrinj has a lot of historical sights to discover, and it is also a location that has a historical connection with the Vinodol region on the other side of the canal. The hiking path of Dobrinjština is a 20 km long trail that starts and finishes in Šilo. Passes through the entire Dobrinjština and reveals its attractive details of flora, fauna, local art, and architecture and offers exceptional lookouts.
