1. Visit the largest Croatian island of Cres

Islands Cres and Krk are almost the same size at 405.7 km2 and 405.2 m2 respectively, but the Island Krk, although it has some high terrain in the South, is much flatter then Cres which is famous for its steep sea cliffs and sturdy sheep.

Another interesting fact about Cres is that you can have a relaxed camping experience without being afraid of snakes. This island does not have any venomous snakes at all!

3. Explore the traces of dinosaurs in Istria

Istria has one of the richest sites of dinosaur fossils in Croatia. Footprints have been found in several locations: on the Veli Brijun island, on the peninsula Marlera near Medulin, in a small bay in Prematura. The greatest discovery occurred in 1992 when a diver accidentally found fossilised bones on the seabed near Bale. The bones of 10 different species of dinosaur, estimated to be 150-200 million years old, can be visited in Bale.

Paleo Park in the Mon Perin camping near Bale was inspired by this discovery. If you pass through the bay of Soline on Krk in summer, you will surely notice a lot of people who are smeared with mud from head to toe and who are walking along the beach or lying in the mud and relaxing. This location is famous for its healing mud which is used for healing gout and even some skin diseases. Apart from the primary healing mud, this bay is a favourite place for families with children, due to the extremely shallow sea.

9. Unique view of Vinodol surrounded by history

The island of Krk has a rich history. The island has been inhabited since prehistoric times. The island is also home to the legendary noble family Frankopan. You can discover rich traces of history if you take the hiking trails of the island of Krk. There are more than 300 kilometres of marked hiking trails.

The area of Šilo and Dobrinj has a lot of historical sights to discover, and it is also a location that has a historical connection with the Vinodol region on the other side of the canal. The hiking path of Dobrinjština is a 20 km long trail that starts and finishes in Šilo. Passes through the entire Dobrinjština and reveals its attractive details of flora, fauna, local art, and architecture and offers exceptional lookouts.

Hidden in a bay near the small village Šilo lies the Tiha Šilo camping. Staying in the new mobile homes by the sea will delight you with their original design and offer you a completely new view of the Vinodol and the Crikvenica area.

10. Instagram friendly Infinity pool

On the opposite side of the Vinodol channel lies the Elements Camping Selce. It is characterized by a particularly beautiful configuration of the terrain that deviates towards the sea and opens stunning views of the sea and the island of Krk.

The main attraction of the camp is a new pool complex whose shells are designed like sandy beaches in two cascades. They allow easy entry and exit from the pool.
